FCSLLG a non-profit organization that serves children and families in the counties of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville and their surrounding areas. We are commonly referred to as a child welfare services agency or a children’s aid society.
We have a role under the law.
We support families when they need it and, when required, take the necessary steps to make sure children are protected. We carry out our work under the Ontario Child, Youth and Family Services Act, which requires us to investigate possible abuse or neglect of children and ensure the safety of those who need protection.
Our History
Family and Children’s Services of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville was established on August 2, 2011 through the amalgamation of two longstanding child welfare agencies — the Children’s Aid Society of the County of Lanark and the Town of Smiths Falls and the Family and Children’s Services of Leeds and Grenville. This union brought together decades of shared experience and commitment to child protection and family support across the region, strengthening services and expanding outreach across Lanark, Leeds and Grenville counties. Today, FCSLLG operates as a non-profit child welfare organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and funded by the Province of Ontario under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act. From this foundation, the agency continues its mission of safeguarding children, supporting families in need, and fostering community partnerships that promote safety, permanency and well-being for children and youth throughout eastern Ontario.
